Why is my card being declined when I try to make a payment?

If your card is being declined while trying to purchase or renew QuillBot Premium, it’s usually due to a restriction from your bank or card issuer.

What to do

1. Contact your bank or card issuer

Ask why the transaction is being declined. In many cases, this happens for security reasons or because international or recurring payments are blocked by default.

2. Make sure international payments are enabled

Ensure that international transactions are enabled on your card. You can confirm this by contacting your bank or checking your banking app settings.

3. Try using a credit card instead of a debit card

Debit cards sometimes face issues with recurring payments. Using a credit card may resolve the problem.

4. Use PayPal as an alternative payment method

You can also complete your purchase using PayPal, which allows you to link your bank account, debit card, or credit card.

Note: QuillBot currently accepts payments only through credit/debit cards and PayPal.
