What are modes?
Modes are settings in the QuillBot Paraphraser that adjust how the AI rewrites your text. Each mode has a specific focus—from improving grammar to making your text sound more formal, simple, or creative.
Using the right mode helps you customize your writing to match your goals.
List of modes
1. Standard (free)
- Default mode.
- Balances rewriting with maintaining meaning.
- Produces natural, clear text.
2. Fluency (free)
- Fixes grammar errors.
- Makes text sound natural and fluent.
- Makes the fewest changes; synonyms are minimized.
3. Humanizer (Premium)
- Makes text sound less robotic and more natural.
- Especially helpful for AI-generated drafts.
- Focuses on flow and readability.
4. Formal (Premium)
- Rewrites text to sound professional.
- Useful for academic or workplace writing.
5. Academic (Premium)
- Adjusts text for a scholarly or research-focused tone.
- Great for essays, research papers, and academic articles.
6. Simple (Premium)
- Makes writing easier to read and understand.
- Ideal for general audiences or simplifying complex topics.
7. Creative (Premium)
- Makes bold changes for a unique rewrite.
- May slightly change the meaning.
8. Expand (Premium)
- Increases word count by adding more details.
- Useful for essays or assignments with length requirements.
9. Shorten (Premium)
- Reduces word count while keeping the meaning.
- Great for summaries or assignments with limits.
10. Custom (Premium)
- Lets you define your own paraphrasing style.
- Type a guiding word like “casual” or “friendly” for unique rewrites.
How to change the mode:
- Open the QuillBot Paraphraser.
- Look at the mode selector bar above the text boxes.
- Click the name of the mode you want to use (e.g., Fluency, Humanizer).
- The selected mode will appear green and underlined.
