In-text citations alert the reader that a specific quotation or piece of text has been taken from another source. These citations often have minimal information, such as author name, title, or page number, and directly follow the quotation.
Full citations are listed in a Reference, Works Cited, or Bibliography page at the end of the essay/paper and give all of the information for each source. These citations, depending on the citation style, can include the full title, author and editor names, publication date and location, and other miscellaneous information.
